Lakes Area Youth Track Meet: Youth Track Meet for all area athletes age 14 and under. Age divisions are under 5; 5-6; 7-8; 9-10; 11-12; 13-14. Unlimited entry for field events including standing long jump and softball throw, running events including 50m (up to age 10), 100m, 400m, 800m (ages 6-8 only), 1600m (ages 9-14). Sea Creature Art: Come to the Detroit Lakes Public Library at 2 p.m. for a free Summer Library Experience featuring splatter painting of sea creatures, using "anything other than a paintbrush."

Trucks and Tunes: The Detroit Lakes Noon Rotary Club is sponsoring an evening of food, fun and live music at the Detroit Lakes City Park, starting at 5 p.m. A variety of food trucks will be gathered in the parking lot until 8 p.m., serving up a host of summer favorites, while over at the bandshell, Matt Aakre will be performing. Admission is free, though the cost of food may vary from truck to truck.

Tuesdays in the Park: Local singer-songwriter Tim Eggebraaten performs live as part of Detroit Lakes' Tuesdays in the Park summer concert series at 7 p.m. under the City Park Bandshell. Picnic hosted by Fuller Center for Housing starts at 5:30 p.m. Seating is limited, so bring your own blankets or chairs. Admission is a free will donation; all proceeds from the picnic benefit Fuller Center's local housing projects, while donations for the concert go to support the artists.

Free Family Bike Ride: Detroit Mountain Recreation Area will host a free bike riding event for area families, sponsored by LAMBAT (Lakes Area Mountain Biking Alliance and Trails), starting at 9 a.m. if you would like to sign up for a free rental bike (adult and child sizes available, courtesy of the Detroit Lakes school district), 9:30 a.m. if you're bringing your own bike. Session starts out with basic coaching and riding on the skills park and then progresses into the single track trails for anyone interested in trying them out.
